Nondescript bird

You stared for a good 60 seconds at the clump of bare trees beside the riverpath before you spotted the nondescript bird nestled in the joint of a branch and pouring forth a full-throated stream of song, banter and impersonations. Might have been a thrush judging by your Wildlife of Britain book.

 

Via the backlane

to nursery. A car trundles past

over potholes
