Thoughts there

Saturday: visit the cinema in the afternoon for a family-friendly showing, babies and toddlers welcome. A Jack Black vehicle called Gulliver’s Travels. The pleasure was in the outing itself. The novelty of going to the movies for the first time in four years. Curious to know what the kids would make of it. Didi seemingly indifferent, Jiejie apparently nonplussed.

Paid extra attention to news from Taiwan over the past day or so in the wake of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. N talking enthusiastically about travelling back to visit Wai’ao and Tainan. Grownups contrasting the frenetic baseline of urban life in Taipei with the easier almost restful pace of life here. You’re all missing the place.
